Accessibility Statement
Last updated November 6, 2026
The short version: We build fixkon.com to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Most of it does today. One thing does not yet: our launch video has no captions. If something on this site gets in your way, email info@fixkon.com and we will reply within five business days.
1. Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use the FixKon website, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, rely on captions, use speech input, or need to magnify the page. Accessibility is something we test for, not something we assume.
2. The standard we measure against
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This is the standard most commonly referenced in accessibility law, including under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the European Accessibility Act.
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not. What does not is listed below, plainly, rather than left for you to discover.
3. What we know is not accessible yet
- Our launch video has no captions. The video on the home page is narrated and currently ships without a caption track, which does not meet success criterion 1.2.2 (Captions, Prerecorded). Captions are being produced. The video is promotional and never plays on its own, so it will not start sound you did not ask for. If you need to know what it says before captions land, email us and we will send you the text.
- Our blog posts may link to other people’s sites. We do not control whether those pages are accessible.
4. What we have done
- Every page can be operated from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link as the first stop.
- Tables that scroll sideways on small screens can be scrolled with the arrow keys, so their right-hand columns are reachable without a mouse.
- Images carry alternative text, or are marked decorative where they only repeat nearby text.
- Headings follow a single logical order per page, with one level-one heading, so a screen reader can be used to navigate structure.
- Text and interface colours meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum, and the layout reflows without horizontal scrolling at 200% zoom.
- Form fields have real labels, not placeholder text alone.
- Animation is reduced automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.
5. How we test
We run automated checks (axe-core and Lighthouse) over every page template at both desktop and mobile widths, and we test by hand for the things tools cannot catch: tabbing through each page, checking what a screen reader actually announces, and confirming the page still works magnified.
We are honest about the limits of this. Automated testing finds roughly a third of accessibility problems. Our own video failed no automated check at all while having no captions, which is exactly why we also test by hand and publish what we find.
6. Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it, and we would rather hear about it than not. Email info@fixkon.com. It helps if you can tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and what browser or assistive technology you use, but send it even if you cannot.
We aim to reply within five business days. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you what we are doing instead and give you another way to get what you needed.
7. The desktop app
This statement covers the fixkon.com website. The FixKon Windows app is a separate product and is not covered here. If you use assistive technology with the app and run into trouble, email us at the address above and tell us what you are using.
